When you need a coin appraisal, we are the intelligent choice. We do not buy, sell or broker, so you are assured our opinions of value are completely unbiased. We offer expert comprehensive numismatic appraisal services for individuals, attorneys, banks, estates and trusts, government institutions and museums. Our experts are known for their knowledge, professionalism, and confidentiality.
An independent coin appraisal is necessary when you need to know the value of your coins. This may be necessary for:
A coin dealer is likely to be very knowledgeable about the coins and their value. However, coin dealers exist to buy low and sell high. The greater the spread, the greater the dealer profit. Independent coin appraisers on the other hand, are compensated for their time. An appraisal expert is personally disinterested in the value of your rare coin collection. The goal is to provide you with the collection’s correct valuation for the purpose and function you need.
Should you have a large collection of coins and desire an onsite examination of your collection in the safety and convenience of your home, business or bank, our team of experts are prepared to travel to your secure location. Whether you travel to our office or we travel to you, we will examine your coins in your presence.
We NEVER ask you to leave your coins in our possession. We encourage you to ask questions and observe.
At your coin appraisal appointment, we will make a general assessment of the collection to identify valuable coins or rarities. We will point out the better coins and explain why they are worth more money. Second, we will arrange your coins logically to prepare an inventory list. Finally, we will meticulously sort, grade, photograph, and count your coins. Rare coins and other coins of high value are individually appraised and valued. Oftentimes, a detailed list of every coin may not be necessary. If your collection consists of mass quantities of identical circulated business strike coins, grouping similar items into a single line item speeds the process.
After all coins have been identified, evaluated and authenticated, we will undertake the necessary research to develop credible results, formulate an opinion of value, and write the coin appraisal. All our coin appraisals conform to the standards of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice, the American Society of Appraisers and the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers.
